The Historic Preservation Commission, which was created in 2006, consist of five members each with staggered five year terms. The Mayor, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees, appoints members to the Commission including the designation of a Chairperson and a Deputy Chairperson.

The Historic Preservation Commission has been formed to help preserve the historical architecture within the Village of Springville. The Commission will document the area which is historically significant creating districts and landmark individual properties. They must also compile design standards for the historic features in the these districts. Certificates of Appropriateness must be obtained to assure work being performed meets the integrity of the building.

The Historic Preservation Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month and the third Tuesday if needed. Meetings are held at the Village Municipal Building at 65 Franklin Street on the second floor court room at 7:00pm.
